Awards of Excellence for Toni Williams and Shelley Young

Each year, the NSW DoE Awards of Excellence recognises outstanding people in our schools who have been exceptional in their service and dedication to the success and achievements of students in our schools. We have exceptional people and this year we are so proud of two our staff members Toni Williams and Shelley Young. Both of them were presented their awards at the prestigious DOE Awards of Excellence in Sydney Town Hall last week. We are super proud of them.

Toni Williams with the Minister

Toni was awarded the Ministers Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2023 for her commitment, compassion, and professional practice, for expert teaching at all levels. Her ability to work alongside staff across the Department, demonstrating her broad experience, at school, network, and regional level in her role as Writing Specialist, Year Advisor, Sports Organiser, MAP (Alarm) facilitator and PDHPE expert across network schools, including liaising regularly with corporate and regional staff, to ensure strong communication and impeccable organisation. Her selection as the Writing network facilitator was identified through her outstanding school data, recognising her consistent approach to writing culminating in outstanding HSC results each year. Congratulations to Toni on her well-deserved recognition.

Shelley Young with the DoE secretaery

Shelley, deservedly been awarded the DoE Secretary’s Award for Excellent Service, in her role as a School Administration Officer. Shelley has undeniably supported the wellbeing and learning achievements of our students, with particular support of students with disabilities. Her thoroughness to any task, is outstanding and she always ensures the simple things are done well, in particular her commitment to school communications. Shelley has been responsible for the creation, coordination, and publishing of our ‘weekly’ Summit Times, sent to 3,000 parents, 1200 students, and distributed into the wider community every week, which contains celebrations of a learning culture, community, achievement, and excellence. Her contribution is a vital part of school operations that builds trust and a sense of community. Both these amazing people are just great down to earth people who are such team players and so committed to our students and school #ServiceAward #2023TeachersAward #commitment #Congrats!
