Mainstream Support

The mainstream learning support team at Ulladulla High School employs a three tiered approach to support teaching and learning. Initially, a variety of withdrawal sessions are offered; these involve small group tutoring with the goal of either remediation of identified learning gaps or greater success in assessment tasks – for literacy and numeracy.

One Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO) is employed full time to assist students in accessing their curriculum via behaviour support, and adjusting the learning to allow individual students to experience success. Two other SLSOs' work to compliment this program on a needs basis.

In addition two Learning and Support Teachers are employed to support teachers in the classroom around literacy, numeracy and behaviour. These two teachers are also responsible for supporting the teaching staff in any program involving the improvement of teaching and learning. It is also part of their job to assist individual student who require special provisions for assessments and examinations.
