Our policies and reports

Our policies and reports help families understand how our school works. Our annual report and school plan show what we’ve done and how we’re improving each year.  Our policies address attendance, absences, behaviour, uniform and how we respond to your concerns.

Annual school report

The annual report provides an account of our operations and achievements throughout the year. It's the result of rigorous self-assessment by staff, parents and carers, as well as student leaders.

School excellence plan

We have developed a School Excellence Plan (SEP) in consultation with our community, identifying student outcomes and connected to a budget.

The  School Excellence Framework  (SEF) underpins our school planning and reporting approach. The framework provides a clear description of the key elements of high-quality practice across learning, teaching and leading.

The SEP is a working document that details the steps our school will take to improve learning outcomes, and the achievement and growth of all students. To ensure continuous improvement, the SEP reflects where our school is at and how it will further improve learning, teaching and leading.

It demonstrates our alignment and our commitment to excellence as part of public education in NSW to ensure a profound difference to the ongoing growth and development of our students.

School behaviour support and management plan

Our school has a school behaviour support and management plan (SBSMP). The SBSMP helps us create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for all students. It sets clear expectations for student behaviour. This includes how we respond to bullying and cyberbullying. We work together with our school community to shape the plan and review it each year.

Roll Call
Roll Call begins at 8.50am, with a warning bell at 8.45am. All students are to arrive at school prior to this time.
Late Arrival
When a student arrives at school after 8.50am, he/she must sign in at Student Services to obtain a late pass. The student should have a parent/caregiver note giving an acceptable reason for the late arrival. If there is a problem with buses, this will be taken into account. Teachers will not accept students to class without a late pass. If students fail to report to Student Services when late, they will be marked absent for the day and parents will be informed via SMS.  Persistent lateness to school will be regarded as a discipline matter and contact will be made with parent/caregiver.
Absence
If a student is absent from school, the parent/caregiver should provide an appropriate explanation at the earliest opportunity. This can be in the form of a medical certificate, note, phone call, or email to ulladulla-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au In each case the information provided should include the date, student’s name, the days and dates the student was absent, the reasons for the absence and, for letters, a parent signature. If the student is going to be absent from school for more than three days, parents need to notify the school. Ongoing and frequent absences may result in students being referred to the region’s Home School Liaison program.
Leave Pass
In cases of necessity, students may be granted permission to leave school before the end of the school day. A note, phone call or email from parents is required and should show the student’s name, the time and date when the student wishes to leave, a complete reason for the request and a signature of a parent or guardian.
Extended Leave - Travel

Family holidays and travel outside of vacation periods are counted as an absence for the student and for statistical purposes.

Parents may apply for leave using the

Application for extended leave - travel

. Travel documentation, such as travel itinerary or e-ticket, needs to be attached to the Application.

If the Principal approves the Application, a  "Certificate of Extended Leave —Travel"  will be issued and the absence recorded as 'leave'. If the application is not approved the absence will be recorded as 'unjustified leave'. The certificate may be produced when requested by police or other authorised attendance officer.

Extended Leave application form should be completed and submitted  at least two weeks prior to start date of leave.
