I am guessing Mrs Michelle Faoa has helped you with your uniform, at some point of your high school career, and it might be true that she may have helped some parents with their uniform. Yes, Michelle has been our Uniform shop Coordinator for 20 years, a remarkable career of service. It was always more than a job to Michelle. Her kind and welcoming ways were often the first contact families had with the school, and she has been our biggest advocate and voice of wisdom.
On reflection there is so much more to the dedication that Michelle has shown that many may not know. Her loyalty and trust in the school, something she said, ‘I am very grateful for the care, kindness and hard work the teachers and staff did for my family, my kids loved school.’ With 5 of her children being School Captains, (Saineha, Metui, James, Lachlan and Mitchell) and the fact that Troy played football for Westfield Sports during Year 11/12, if he had been at UHS, no doubt, he may well have been captain also. Michelle and Paul (Michelle’s husband) were long standing P & C Members, with Michelle gaining life membership of the P & C and Paul being the treasurer. Michelle has decided to retire, to spend time travelling and enjoying time with her 13 grandchildren. However, she was not going to leave until we had filled the position. We welcome Evelyn McLeod, who has been in training and with Michelle’s guidance we look forward to Evelyn taking over the reins. All the best Michelle, you have been extraordinary. #AllTheBest #UHSLoyalty #UniformChampion
