Candy, chocolate and an exuberant cast of: sausage eating Augustus Gloop, Russian on-pointe Veruca Salt, Bubble gum chewing Queen of POP Violet Beauregarde and Oompa Loompa's that were a wonder to behold, made for a fantastic excursion to Sydney last Wednesday for senior Drama, Entertainment, Music and Dance students.
This was an opportunity with a variety of outcomes linked to musical theatre, HSC Major Works; performance, review writing, dance, technical elements and the experience of live theatre.
The cast and the production did not disappoint, with spectacular lighting and projections, laudable and laughable puppetry sequences and performances that brought characters instantly to life.
Students were fantastic in the participation as audience and adults, as we negotiated the thoroughfares of Sydney.
