I have always spoken about the power of student voice in transforming a school. It is also one of the most important aspects of what students learn from school. Tomorrow’s leaders are built from their experiences and opportunities provided at their school.
The Student Representative and Environment Council are the groups that give space to enrich the conversation, think about new ideas, develop an opinion and work toward things that really matter. The SRC and SEC work on getting things done, and endeavour to make a difference in the lives of our students and the lives of our community. On the back of the Bushfires this is important work. I encourage any student to be brave, show courage and put your hand up to ‘make a difference’, go ahead and nominate. Ask any of our current school leaders how it feels to do important projects, put forward ideas and make change about all types current issues and causes.
