You might have heard Tom Cowled talking about the South Coast Steers Competition on ABC Illawarra radio last week. Tom is part of a dedicated group of students from Years 9,10 and 11 Agriculture classes who have been working hard on our Ag Farm from the beginning of the year to train and raise 4 steers for the South Coast Steer Spectacular competition.
The competition is a yearly event that takes place at Nowra showground and is organised and managed by the South Coast Beef Association members. The experience provides a wonderful opportunity for Agriculture students to develop knowledge and skills in growing and parading steers. This year the Ulladulla High School team had some great success in the educational component of the competition which involved producing a report that outlines the entire process of growing and training the steers including the economics, Science, and management of the project. These hardworking and dedicated students deservedly achieved overall Champion School for this section of the competition which is a credit to all involved. Congratulations to the UHS Steer Team for their brilliant, dedicated approach to all aspects of the competition. And a big shout out to our amazing Ag Teacher Mrs Carden. #RealLearning #Passion #AgriculturalFuture
