They learnt many skills such as taking off your mask and putting back on underwater, hand signals and finding your regulator if you lose it. Day 2 we went down to the sea pool to finish off a few skills such as what to do if your buddy runs out of air and controlling your buoyancy. We then ventured out into the ocean just off the break wall to put all we had learned into practice. Day 3 we were out on the boat, Tye even got to drive the boat. Now was the time to really challenge our new skills with an 18m dive off the Lighthouse and at Sullivan's Reef. After calming our nerves, we slowly descended into the deep and discovered an amazing world of marine wildlife. Huge blue gropers, colourful wrasse, large schools of bream, many colourful starfish, wobbegongs and fun caves and crevices to swim through. A fantastic experience right on our doorstep. Big thanks to Brian from South Coast Underwater Dive Academy for running the course.
