On Friday 3rd May our Open volleyball teams served up some serious excitement at the GALA day in Bomaderry! Facing off against fierce competition from other Shoalhaven schools, our boys and girls teams showed off their skills and sportsmanship in full force.
The girls team showed great enthusiasm and effort and improved in every game. Everyone in the team played their role on the court and always with a smile on their face. Big shout outs to Hannah, Summer and Mackenzie who were kind and encouraging to the Year 9 girls, who for most, this was their first competition of volleyball. Scraping through at 4th with 3 wins and two losses, the girls have secured a place in the second round.
The boys team set the court on fire with their phenomenal performance, ultimately clinching the first-place spot! From jaw-dropping spikes to epic saves, they had it all! Captain Jhye Adams led the charge with some thunderous hits that left opponents shaking in their kneepads. Let's not forget about Lachlan Markovits, whose lightning-fast reflexes and towering blocks kept the opposition at bay. And who could ignore the consistent firepower of Fynn McMullen, delivering hit after hit with pinpoint accuracy! Their stellar performance was not only awe-inspiring but also earned them a well-deserved victory.
