In a remarkable display of passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to environmental conservation, Flo Brown, a Year 12 student at Ulladulla High School, has been awarded the prestigious EEC Future Leaders Environment Award 2024. This honour is a testament to her exceptional efforts and unwavering determination to make a positive impact on our planet. Flo's journey to becoming the seventh recipient of this prestigious award from Ulladulla High School in the past seven years is a truly inspiring one. Championed by her teacher, Sam Clarke, and highly prominent in the Educational Director – Regional South and Connected Communities speech by Ms. Kathy Powzun, Flo's accomplishments have been celebrated and recognized at the highest levels. Mr. Doug Reckford, the Principal of Bournda Environmental Education School, travelled to Ulladulla High School to personally present Flo with this esteemed award during our latest Excellence Assembly, underscoring the significance of her achievement and the impact it has had on the broader educational community. Flo follows in the footsteps of a host of incredible environmental leaders who have paved the way before her, including Morrison Lee in 2014, Brooke Kalocsay in 2015, Ava Del Tufo and Darcy Forrester-Sach in 2017, Takesa Frank in 2019, Jade Mudge in 2020, and Ashton Johnson in 2022. Ulladulla High School has been a breeding ground for outstanding student environmentalists, and Flo's achievement not only adds to this legacy but also serves as an inspiration for future generations of students passionate about safeguarding our planet.
