Celebrating Sporting Excellence at the Sports Assembly

The recent Sports Assembly on Monday 2 December, brought together students, parents, and special guests to celebrate the outstanding sporting achievements of Ulladulla High School in 2024. This  event recognised students who reached South Coast representation or competed for UHS at the state level and highlighted exceptional performances across various sports. Zone Blues Awards were presented to Jessica Kann, Annabelle Healey, and Aliyah Healey for their outstanding achievements, while Ella Colusso received a Regional Blues Award. 

Sports Persons of the Year

Sportspersons of the Year Ella Colusso and Aliyah Healey were each awarded a $250 scholarship sponsored by Anytime Fitness from the AFL Dockers Club for incredible individual sporting achievements and contributions to sport at UHS. Team of the Year was awarded to the 7/8 Girls Touch Football Team, coached by Ms. Curtis, for their remarkable teamwork and success - placing

6th at state. The assembly also recognised our talented athletes in Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics, as well as special achievements by the Surfing Team (who reached the state finals for the first time), 7/8 Girls Touch, Boys Volleyball, and Ten Pin Bowling teams. The event featured vibrant performances by the Dance Group and Year 12 Aerialist Group, showcasing the creative talents of our students. Daringyan House emerged as the overall winner of the Swimming, Athletics, and Cross Country carnivals - congratulations! Mr. Youens received the Wooden Spoon Award, and Mrs. Dower was named Coach of the Year. Sports MVPs were awarded watches in recognition of their extraordinary consistent efforts.

We want to also apologise for not formally acknowledging the outstanding achievements of our Snowsports athletes who attended State: Freya Bryant, Hayley Grabia, Alexis Hanley, Chloe Grabia, Elsie Foster, Leif Dampney, Jacob Jones, Toby Millard, Cooper Minassian, Hayden Minassian, Noah Wackett, Ayla Richards, Kody Upson, Chantelle Garrett. Nationals competitors: Cooper Minassian, Hayden Minassian, Freya Bryant, Hayley Grabia, Alexsis Hanley and our equestrian students Micki Boone who attended 2024 NSW Interschools and Freya Bryant NSW State Interschools.  A heartfelt thank you to our PDHPE Team specifically Mr. Pearson and Mrs Henry for the organisation of the event. As well as the efforts of Ms. Grady, Mr. Skinner, and Ms. McCutchen and Mr Hart - for their work in making the event a success. This memorable occasion celebrated the dedication, talent, and spirit of our school's athletes, and we look forward to more achievements in 2025.
