Entrepreneurial Skills - Shark Tank Style

Year 9 Commerce students demonstrated their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills last Friday when they pitched their business plans to a panel of expert business ‘sharks’ from the local community. This was a chance to gain valuable feedback and practice their promotion techniques before they put the final touches on their products to be sold in stalls at UHS EXPO.

Mrs Davies and Miss Vogelnest were blown away by the standard of pitches and professional way all students presented their business ideas. The sharks were also impressed and gave invaluable feedback to the business groups which included sustainable styles, retro vault, home-made cookies, natural zinc, personalised bags,  lip scrub, Airpod safety case, and an ingenious self-watering  hydroponic plant system. A huge thanks to our ‘shark’s – Gavin Hart (Woodstock Financial Services)  Rob Russell (business owner) Yousef Aziz (relieving Head Teacher HSIE) for giving up their time. Every great entrepreneur must start somewhere!
