ANZAC represents respect, honour, and community

students marching at Anzac Day service

Every year we have many students who represent our school and all the young people of our community at our local ANZAC ceremonies, including the Milton ANZAC march. The maturity and the effort shown by our students to honour and show respect for those who have lost their lives in campaigns of war and peace keeping was heartfelt and extraordinary.

Flag Bearers at Service

In 2023, many of our students played significant parts in the ceremonies, singing hymns, flag bearers and wreath laying, and ultimately showing great maturity, including Bella Brown, Jordan Backhouse, Sienna Flynn, Lachlan Barry, along with Nazar El Tobgy, Manu and Karina Maya. They were supported by many UHS students, who took part in the ANZAC procession that marched down the street of Milton to the Cenotaph. This was supported by the UHS School ANZAC Assembly which was extraordinary. The heart moving ceremony was a compilation of dance, song, image and voice to bring a deeper understanding of ANZAC in the contemporary setting. Congratulations to all students who have been part of this tradition and custom, one which continues to bring understanding and one which unites our community. #ANZAC23 #Respect
