8 Blue kicked off the Outdoor Ed spring season with an amazing day out at Lake Conjola. Blue skies greeted us as we took off in our canoes and made our way across some shallow waters into some crystal clear deep passages. Capsizing, swimming and a whole lot of laughter included got us back to a treat of hot chips for lunch, before we journeyed onto the sand dunes and open ocean shores.

We talked about how recognising our personal strengths and focusing on the things within rather than out of our control can help us to conquer challenges and tough times.

To finish it off, we found the perfect backdrop to launch off the sand dunes straight into the clear ocean and found ourselves back on the bus happy, exhausted and full of newly made memories. If you’re in Year 8 and haven’t been canoeing this year, make sure to hand in your note so you don’t miss the fun. Thanks to Mr Duncan and Ice for their great spirits on the day. Mrs Mergel
