Last week Yr 12 Society and Culture class along with our Didge Group and Aboriginal Dance Group were privileged to meet the cast from Bangarra Dance Theatre at the ‘Sand Song - Stories from the Great Sandy Desert’ performance which was held at the Sydney Opera House. The students were in awe of the Opera House, but once the spectacular show began could not take their eyes off the stage. The Bangarra Dance group set the scene on stage under the vast Kimberley sky, where the ancient knowledge of People and Country is preserved through song lines that have endured for hundreds of generations. The students had a great time and were honoured to have worked collaboratively with Bangarra Dance Theatre through their workshops in Term 2.
