Rural Fire Service - Year 10

Last week our 22 strong UHS Year 10 Brigade did us proud. An early morning start saw the five teams dispatched to an incident at a local quarry. From putting in containment lines, running an Over-run, resupplying active trucks, to actively fighting the Witches Hat Fire our students never missed a beat.
All of this is only possible due to the amazing volunteer fire brigades that run this amazing Basic Firefighter program. With crews from Kioloa, Bawley Point, Tabourie and the amazing Milton, our students have been expertly tutored and mentored through the practical components of the course and taken through the theory component with the odd bad dad joke to keep things entertaining (Thanks Tanzi). An invaluable week with the students demonstrating skill, stamina and a real connection to and concern for, our community.
