Ulladulla High Shines at Ben Hornby & Ben Creagh Rugby League Gala Day

Opens Boys Rugby League Team

On March 6th, Ulladulla High’s Under 15s and Opens Boys Rugby League teams travelled to Bomaderry Sports Ground to compete in the Ben Hornby Opens and Ben Creagh Under 15s Gala Day. The Under 15s started strong with a 10-0 victory over Nowra in their first pool match. Despite a determined effort, they fell to Vincentia 0-14 in their second game, narrowly missing out on the finals due to points differential. The Opens Boys had an impressive run, defeating Vincentia 16-6 in their opening match. They faced a tough contest against Kiama, going down 0-6 in their second game, but bounced back to defeat Nowra 10-8 in their final pool match. 

Under 15s Boys Rugby League Team

Their strong performance secured them a place in the final, where they showed great resilience but were ultimately defeated by Kiama 0-12. A huge congratulations to Nate Shea, Jet Smith, Finn Bradley, Beau Alderman, Rhys Beddall, Riley Gleeson-Morris, Phoenix Williams, and Liam Henry, who were selected for the South Coast Representative Rugby League Trials—a fantastic achievement! A big thank you to Mr Terechovs, Mrs Williams and the 45 students who participated, representing Ulladulla High with pride and sportsmanship. Special thanks also to Simon Shea, Glen Henry, and the many supportive family members who volunteered their time to assist and cheer on the teams throughout the day. And finally, a heartfelt thank you to Matthew Williams and the NRL staff for making this great day possible.
