Harmony Week Celebrated at UHS

Year 12 students

Harmony Week was celebrated last week with a series of activities organized by the Student Representative Council. Students arrived Tuesday morning to find the school decorated in orange, the official colour of Harmony Week, which promotes inclusiveness and respect for Australia's cultural diversity. The SRC team coordinated several popular activities throughout the day. Face and hand painting of flags was particularly well-received, with students enthusiastically representing various cultures.

A spontaneous game of "Cherry" brought students from different grades together in a display of unity and cooperation. The cupcake stall during the second break quickly sold out, while the Graffiti Wall filled with heartfelt messages about what Harmony Day meant to students. The theme "we all have a role to play" was evident as participants from across the school community engaged with each other. The successful event showcased UHS's commitment to celebrating diversity, with the SRC receiving congratulations for their initiative in creating an inclusive atmosphere that fostered connection among students of all backgrounds.
