Koori Graduation 2024

Koori Students with graduation certificates

It is with great pride that we celebrated the graduation of the eleven Year 12 First Nation students at the 2024 Shoalhaven Aboriginal Student Graduation. This momentous occasion marks the culmination of years of perseverance, determination, and hard work among a remarkable group of young people: Jhye, Blake, Kyle, Jada, Anais, Bonni, Reece, Summer, Sarayah, and Emma. Each of these students brings their own unique talents and contributions to their community—whether as talented musicians, National Parks trainees, community volunteers, environmental advocates, or simply as kind, compassionate individuals. Their journeys have not been without challenges, but they have shown extraordinary resilience, overcoming obstacles and staying focused on their goals. For many, this is a particularly historic achievement, as they will be the first in their families to graduate from high school. This accomplishment not only reflects their personal determination but also serves as a source of inspiration for future generations within their communities. We are incredibly proud of these young leaders, who have already begun to make a positive impact on the world around them. As they embark on the next chapter of their lives, whether through further education, community service, or other endeavours, we have no doubt that they will continue to shine brightly, carrying with them the strength of their culture, their connection to the land, and their unwavering commitment to making a difference. We congratulate each of you on this fantastic achievement and look forward to seeing the many great things you will continue to accomplish in the future.
