Year 11 Students holidng a pizza fundraiser

Year 11 students held a Pizza Fundraiser on Wednesday in Week 8 to raise money for the Kokoda Youth Foundation. Mrs Smith, Miss Dunnett, seven Year 11 students and one Year 10 student will be walking 48 km in the Kokoda Challenge on Saturday 12 October in the Olney State Forest, near Lake Macquarie. The Kokoda Challenge is a relatively new and tough charity event which aims to raise funds for local youth programs. The two UHS teams are sponsored by the Milton-Ulladulla Ex-servicemen’s Club. Thanks to Domino’s Pizza who provided the pizzas and garlic bread on the day.

Yr 11 Students who are embarking on the Kokoda Youth Leadersing challenge

Kokoda Youth Leadership Challenge

Four Year 11 students: Bailey Bergin, Cameron Davies, Annabelle Healey and Marli Roughley, will be pushing themselves to their physical and mental limits in the first week of the break. They will be walking the 96 km Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea over 8-9 days; following in the footsteps of the Australian diggers during World War II. This annual program is fully sponsored by the Milton-Ulladulla Ex-Servicemen’s Club and the Milton-Ulladulla RSL Sub-Branch. The aim of the program is to influence young people to become positive leaders as a result of their Kokoda experience. The students have been training for the past 5 months in preparation and we wish them well for the trek. What an incredible adventure awaits them!
