Circus Skills Camp

Last week, UHS Circus teacher and mentor Sharon McCutcheon took a team of UHS students to Murrumbateman to teach Circus skills to 90 Year 5 and 6 students from 25 small schools across NSW. The annual, weeklong camp provides a wonderful opportunity for Public School students to come together and learn skills in Drama, Dance, Visual Arts, Circus and film making, build self-confidence and make new friendships. The camp culminates in a public performance for families, friends, peers and staff. The UHS student teachers Lillie Thornton (Year 9), Alexis Hanley (Year 9), Lily Bowman (Year 11) and UHS alumni Grace Adams worked long hours in very cold conditions (minus 4 degrees!) and maintained a professional and enthusiastic attitude throughout the camp. We are very proud of our students for volunteering their skills and producing a masterful final showcase.
