Duke of Edinburgh Overnight Hike

Students and Staff hiking

Last week, the Year 10 Duke of Edinburgh students—Tasman, Lachlan, Zoe, Fin, Annie-Maree, and Darcy—successfully completed an exciting hike from Pretty Beach to North Durras. They camped overnight at Pebbly Beach, where they set up their tents and enjoyed being outdoors. Each student carried heavy packs filled with all the essentials for camping, showing their hard work and preparation for the hike. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and mild temperatures, allowing the group to fully enjoy the experience.

During the hike, they learned important skills for planning and completing a challenging trek, like navigation and teamwork, which helped them bond as a group. Looking ahead, they will tackle the Murramarrang South Coast Walk later this term, hiking from North Durras to Maloneys Beach. This upcoming challenge reflects their dedication and effort throughout the year. After completing this walk, they will earn their Bronze award, a proud achievement in the Duke of Edinburgh program.

A big thank you goes out to all the students, staff, and parents who have supported these students in reaching their goals this year. Your encouragement and help have made this journey possible!
