Year 11 Marine

Year 11 Marine have been studying Estuaries. We are lucky enough to have a spectacular one on our doorstep at Narrawallee Inlet. Year 11 spent the day with Illawarra Environmental Education Centre doing various field work such as water testing, flora and fauna surveys using quadrats and collecting crabs, nippers and snails. They displayed much grit in the face of extremely strong cold winds and completed all the tasks with a smile on their faces. They were rewarded at the end of the day when the wind dropped and a sunny afternoon kayak up the creek to study the mangroves.
