Following their stay at the YHA in Sydney Central, the students explored renowned museums in Sydney including the impactful Sydney Jewish Museum. Here, they deepened their understanding of World War II, fostering empathy and compassion for global events. The excursion, therefore, not only pushed students to their physical limits but also provided valuable insights into various cultures, experiences, and hardships of Sydney's residents.
On Wednesday, students enjoyed a ferry ride around the harbour to Cockatoo Island. Here they gained a historical understanding of the treatment of convicts, the production of sandstone used to build most of Sydney's historic buildings, and the repairs and restoration of ships used in WWII. This additional adventure further enriched their exploration of Sydney's history and cultural heritage.
