Leadership is about building strengths, strengths in ourselves and strengths in others

School Leaders with Ms Lofts Mrs Greenacre and Mrs Dale

Schools are places of hope, passion and belonging. Each group of  school student leaders I have had the privilege to work with have always inspired me with their passion, their devotion to their fellow students, and their respect of learning through their passion which has made a real difference. The courage of our new leaders to make their mark on the issues, important to all of us is undeniable. The incoming new SRC and SEC students were officially inducted at the UHS Leadership Investiture ceremony last Thursday. Huge congratulations to all the performers, dancers, circus and music students who entertained a large group of visiting parents and students. I have absolutely no doubt the incoming student leaders will indeed make their mark and strengthen the deep culture of student advocacy, authentic passion and true belonging that is part of what makes UHS students and their leaders, incredibly strong. Their first project is to work on the People and the projects … as they (the student leaders) endeavour to influence, inspire, and align their new student leader team. They will need to work carefully making connections and building relationships within their student leader team and within the student body so that the talk turns into action. It will be this group who will be responsible for making connections and creating the overarching influence on school culture. Congratulations to the 60 strong group of UHS Student Leaders.
