Winning Surround Sound ‘Out of State’.

Out of State performing their award winning song

Our resident band called ‘Out of State’ have rocketed toward their future ambitions by being selected as a ‘Finalist’ in the Surround Sound competition. This successful announcement came in a ZOOM hook up with the DOE Arts Unit, and 6 other schools across the state from Rural locations who were also very excited about this opportunity, both to learn from the music industry, and also to meet other music students with similar passions. 

Out of State band members

A huge congratulations to Jake, Bam, Finlay, Culann and James who will be travelling to Sydney to stay at the Sydney Olympic Park Lodge for a week to work with Industry professionals. This opportunity will also see the band work alongside the Schools Spectacular and to both perform and view the Spectacular. In addition, the UHS Band will host an Industry mentor at our school later in the year, for a music workshop to support the performance of their song list. It is such a privilege and honour for our students to be selected, and showcases the tremendous effort, perseverance and focus of both the students and their UHS music mentor Mr. King. Great Job! #Congratulations #brilliant.
