Making action in your community, you have a part to play.

Students in playground area

Lots of students appreciate the efforts of the environmentalist, you are quick to support an initiative that is for a great cause, a paddle out, or a save our beaches protest. There are countless good intentioned environmental groups that ooze from the social media platforms, a couple that come to mind @mission_blue @Take3FortheSea @greencanteen @treadinglightly @wahineproject @plasticfreemermaid @plasticoceans and the list goes on. Their aim is to make a difference for our future. Impact and change come in slow waves and a lot of daily effort.

Your genuine authentic part in that change needs your effort and your perseverance, and in some ways, having the difficult conversations with your peers. Each and every day, you have that opportunity to make that slow change. I challenge you to look at your own area in the playground. How do you find it when you arrive? How do you leave it? Are you prepared to have that difficult conversation with your mate who is…need I say.. a punish when it comes to leaving a mess, plastics, and wrappings, and you would agree, could be so different. It takes courage to be brave enough to have the conversation and then start to do, and act, in a way that demonstrates you are genuinely an environmentally aware person. If you love the ocean, nature, the magnificent animals, the thick Australian bush, then now is your chance. Start in your own backyard, your own school and your own town. That’s the challenge. Just by your small actions every day you will make a big difference. #TheEnviromentaIsNo1 #beTheChange #BeBrave
