On Friday 14th June a talented crew of students from the Year 10 Circus Skills class travelled to the Sydney Opera House to partake in A O Lang Pho Vietnamese Circus Masterclass.
The students Isabella Vinson, Erin Tebbutt, Neve Lawson and Lily Elliott, found the experience “amazing” as they interacted with the cast and the Director doing improvisation and learning the art of physical theatre. The girls also interacted with many very different props, including bamboo staffs, baskets and spinning discs. The challenge was enhanced by the massive language barrier that was overcome through the use of drama games and charades. Isabella Vinson experienced the extra highlight of being interviewed on ABC National News, which aired on Saturday night. She spoke brilliantly on the topic of multi-culturalism in the circus and the opportunities of being a part of the Ulladulla 35° South Circus. The students would like to thank Ms McCutcheon and Mr Woodland for their time, dedication and support with the Circus and this excellent experience.
