Year 10 students are encouraged to seek work experience this year. The true value of work experience is to gain a taste-tester of occupations while also helping students gain workplace confidence, build on their work readiness skills and most importantly build relationships with businesses in the local area. It's a great way to build their resume and start a list of future referees.

Why work experience matters
Work experience can open up your mind to the great possibilities of your career. Handled well, you can learn a lot about the workplace you visit, the types of education and training required to get there, and what sort of fit this career might have with your own life.
Some students who have recently completed work experience include Natasha Evans (Target), Angus McKay (B & J Mechanical), Ben Russell (Dolphin Point Plumbing), Harry Pascoe (Ulladulla Leisure Centre) and Miya Van De Veerdonk (volunteering RSPCA Nowra).
Work experience opportunities
Year 10 and 11 students are invited to apply for work experience opportunities available with Shoalhaven City Council that you can easily apply to.
An opportunity for work experience at the Milton Ulladulla Times Newspaper is also available.
