Year 10 Donut Panic Workshop!

Sharna Dawson is bringing the Donut Workshop to Ulladulla High School on Friday 12 December! Before you enter work experience, you need to know how to ADD VALUE to the workforce- and how to use school to help you.  Just like donuts- some can be cheap, and some can fetch quite the price- why is it that we pay up to $7 when they’re all made the same? It’s why some people are paid more than others- they are valued higher. Do Nut Panic- and yes- I’ll bring the donuts!

Nowra Police Day

Students from Ulladulla High, Lacey Cooper and Justice-Caprie Warrener; recently participated in an engaging career learning excursion to the Nowra Police Station, where they gained valuable insights into the many roles within the NSW Police Force. Throughout the day, students heard from senior officers about the rank structure, local policing challenges, and pathways into the service. They met frontline police, detectives, and crime prevention teams, and even had the chance to see specialist equipment used in daily operations. A highlight was the physical training session, where students attempted the push-up component of the police fitness test – a tough 25 full body push ups to get through, they did really well! The visit provided a unique look at the diverse career opportunities in policing and the important work police do in keeping our community safe. Many thanks to the Nowra Police Station for their thorough, open and honest approach to informing the future of the force.

Community Services Head Start Program

Last week, nine students from Year 10 participated in the Pre-traineeship skills course for Community Services. This short program provided practical, entry-level training for those interested in working in community services, including roles in aged care, disability support, and early childhood education. It is a fantastic opportunity to develop essential skills, gain industry knowledge, and prepare for future traineeships or further study in this rewarding field. Thank you to, IRT Sarah Claydon Aged Care Centre for hosting our students for WEX and to Lauren McCarthy from EPP for organising and funding this opportunity
