Opportunities that are marked by inclusion, respect and belonging. The mantra for NAIDOC 2022, Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up! represents a call for action for all of us. We must be courageous to ensure that each one of us takes seriously the role we play in ensuring that our First Nations young people can ‘Get up, stand up and show up.’ We all need to show up … and push the negative impact of racism away. The celebration of this changing presence and personal agency was reflected in our NAIDOC activities throughout Week 9, and it was nothing less then ‘sensational’. From the Basketball clash (teachers V students), the burgers on Tuesday, the passion of our artists, to the smoking ceremony and brilliant performers. Huge thank you to our OCHRE team who worked tirelessly to make the week and the Assembly, celebrate culture and country. #thankyouTeam
