Focus, happiness and other ridiculous aspirations

Turia Pitt

Turia is one of us, a local person who lives and grows in the same environment that we all live and grow in. How lucky are we! This afternoon Turia gives words of experience for all of us to embrace on the Education Live broadcast for the Department of Education. The way Turia approaches life is, well firstly inspiring, but it also provides us with good lessons about how we can be in the future. Turia’s life took an absolute 360 when she was caught in a grassfire, 65% (hope I got that right Turia) of her body was burnt. Since that pivotal point her life is nothing like she had planned (and she had big plans).

Disposition Wheel

She could have curled up and said, ‘woe is me’ (Turia would never say that BTW). In pure Turia style she took her life by the horns and recreated a legend of a life. It took her focus, grit, curiosity, empathy, teamwork.. You know the rest, those things that sit on our Learning Disposition wheel. Today, you have the opportunity to respond to your current situation with the same focus, grit, teamwork, influence and so on. Mix it in with a stack of #gratitude, #grit and #perseverance anything is possible. Take a look on this link and hear her story, advice and passion for things, particularly her passion for living a good life. You can also find the stream at:
