Work experience

Year 10 students are encouraged to seek work experience this year. The true value of work experience is to gain a taste-tester of occupations while also helping students gain workplace confidence, build on their work readiness skills and most importantly build relationships with businesses in the local area. It's a great way to build their resume and start a list of future referees.

Visit the UHS Careers website for more information and required forms for work experience

Not sure what you would like to do?  Visit My Future and look at the "Career Bullseyes" and Career profile activities. Visit Mrs Ingold in the Careers Office to complete the required paperwork to attend or seek help with work experience ideas.

Why work experience matters

Work experience can open up your mind to the great possibilities of your career. Handled well, you can learn a lot about the workplace you visit, the types of education and training required to get there, and what sort of fit this career might have with your own life
